After hitting their landmark 100th release last year with a genre-defining label retrospective Cisco Ferreira’s Kombination Research label starts a new chapter with its ‘Kompile’ series.
As a key figure in the UK techno and electro scenes for over two decades, Cisco Ferreira has been at the vanguard of cutting edge dancefloor music since most modern club goers can remember. This, the first part in a series of three, ‘Kompile Research Part 1’ features new and unreleased tracks from past and future artists that are connected to his Kombination Research imprint.
From long-time collaborator Industrialyzer to the likes of Bageera and Frank Biazzi each give their unique take on strictly dancefloor techno that knows how to kick. Whilst Bageera’s ‘Travelling Forward’ brings in muted stabs over a pulsating rhythm, Frank Biazzi goes straight for the jugular with cavernous claps and a 909 bucking and kicking like a mule. Industrialyzer himself serves up what can be described as a proper panel beating experience. ‘Void’ is straight up techno and it’s not going to apologise for it!
We also get Angel Alanis teaming up with Maria Goetz for the scything brutality of ‘LS Sugar’, acidic, bubbling intensity is provided by Frankyeffe’s ‘Night Calling’ whilst Anthony Castaldo & Burden’s ‘Katharsis’ is a future anthem in the making. With further contributions from A Paul & Matt Mus, Jason Fernandes, Kernel Key and Dario Sorano & DKult ‘Kompile Research Part 1’ is a timely reminder of Cisco Ferreira’s influence on electronic dance music and a good indicator as to where it’s heading next.
