Since it’s inception in 2014, Fayer has worked to successfully bridge the gap between indie and dance music and has so far released material from the likes of Metronomy, Maya Jane Coles, Jonas Rathsman and Robag Wruhme.
Having already garnered widespread support from DJs and tastemakers alike including Pete Tong, Annie Mac, George Fitzgerald and Mano Le Tough – no small feat for a label only three years old – they now ready the eighth release on the label, a collaboration between the label owner himself and auspicious London-based band Duologue.
‘Underworld’ is an original composition from Duologue, remoulded and reimagined for 2017 by the band and Edu Imbernon, lifting its spectral indie timbre into a club context. Layered percussion, galvanised drums and rich atmospherics work to build a full and haunting sound that captures Edu’s duality between indie and electronic sensibilities perfectly.
Having already gained support from Dixon, Jamie Jones and Sasha, ‘Underworld’ marks another step forward for an artist firmly on the ascent.
