Prismatica returns to Baikal Nomads with a new three-track EP

Baikal Nomads is an organic house record label with a global roster of artists featuring the likes of Guy Maayan, Jean Vayat, Zuma Dionys, Thommie G and Mula (FR).

The label’s latest release is a three-track EP from Prismatica who is a Mexican artist returning to Baikal Nomads following the success of his solo release on the imprint in 2019. This much-anticipated follow-up blends the melodic progression of trippy synths with crisp percussion and deep atmosphere.

Trademark to Prismatica’s style, the downtempo grooves are stripped back and techy with mesmerising atmospherics that is full of suspense. He has also been featured on other labels like MONADA, Shango Records, FrequenSeed Music and Kosa.

Demian Lara aka Prismatica is based in the town of Tepoztlán and has also released other styles of music under the aliases cirQular, DJ Sáeg and Pro.tone. He plays regular DJ sets in Mexico under his various aliases and has also travelled internationally to play events in places such as Europe and South America.

“Interval” opens the release with vocal textures and organic percussion that intermingles with a lurching bassline and synth stabs that are washed in reverb.

“Instinct” has a twinkling textures and dramatic chords that intertwine with ethereal vocals to create a compelling atmosphere that’s underpinned by flowing percussion.

“Iridiscent” has an uplifting mood with shimmering melodies and dreamy synths that create a soothing atmosphere with a groovy bassline that provides forward momentum with the help of shuffling percussion rhythms.
