Deadmau5 has been banned from live-streaming video game platform Twitch after an alleged “homophobic” rant.
The Canadian EDM producer, real name Joel Zimmermann, reportedly threw a tantrum after his character died in the online game PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, after which the 38-year-old DJ took to Twitch to vent his frustrations, where he referred to his opponent as a “f—ing c—-sucking stream sniper f–”.
After being banned from the site, Deadmau5 took to Reddit to criticize Twitch, and vowed to cut ties with the company.
“I’m not going to stand for Twitch’s double standard when it comes to censoring and suspending me for harmless s—,” he wrote. “I don’t have the capacity to deal with this kind of s**t.”
