Amsterdam Dance Event Completes Program for 22nd Edition

2017 to feature 2500 performers, an all-time record number, and 550 speakers in over 160 locations around Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest club festival and the most important business conference for electronic music, has completed its program. Between the 18th and the 22nd of October a record-breaking 2,500 artists and 550 speakers will perform at 450 + events over 5 days in Amsterdam. The organisers expect to welcome over 375,000 visitors for the 22nd edition.

ADE, an initiative of Buma, has grown rapidly in recent years. In 2016, the event played host to over 2,200 artists and 550 speakers in 140 locations. In addition to the growth of the extensive night program, the organisation is also focused on the further expansion of its daytime and early evening activities. The day program this year has added technology conference ADE Tech and the ADE Hangover to its growing array of daytime activities.

ADE Director Richard Zijlma is looking forward to the future: “The global electronic music scene is growing enormously, especially through various crossovers with other styles like classical, jazz and hip hop. During ADE, all these styles come together for five days all over Amsterdam, making the city a breeding ground for cultural and technological innovation. It’s great to see that more and more professionals and music lovers from The Netherlands and abroad find their way to Amsterdam.”

Zijlma’s hardest task now is visiting as much of ADE as possible. But it’s an almost impossible ask, with almost a thousand events spread over the five days. “In particular, I look forward to the opening concert of Jameszoo & the Metropole Orchestra, the programs of ADE Tech and ADE Sound Lab and of course the Philip Glass concert and masterclass.”

The latest additions to the festival program include a special concert by Philip Glass and the ADE Hangover plus Dekmantel Soundsystem (NL), Ellen Alien (DE), Kriss Kross Amsterdam (NL), Lefto (BE), Philip Glass (US), Shanti Celeste (CL) and Sterac aka Steve Rachmand (NL). Speakers include; Boys Noize, Gary Numan, Hardwell, Irvine Welsh, Jorsi Voorn, Kenny Dope, Kiasmos, Modeselektor, Nadya Tolokonnikova, NIna Kraviz, Oliver Heldens, Philip Glass, Shelly Finkel, Soullwax, Riga and many more.
