Conor Krane steps up on his first appearance on White Owl Records with ‘It Melts Off My Bones’

White Owl Records are a vinyl and digital label based in Brooklyn, USA and have a focus on live and machine-driven techno from its wonderful underground scene.

Conor Krane is one of the White Owl label owner’s and he steps up on his first appearance titled ‘It Melts Off My Bones’ to make his mark with four excellent original tracks.

Opening remix duty, Artem Velychko aka ARTM is also a Brooklyn-based artist originally from the Ukraine, who introduces his latest alias following some quality self-released works as Svavillya.

Second of the remixes welcomes back Carlos Aguilar aka Concrete Husband, an exciting artist who has a high pedigree from the world of classical music, has now found his home in techno. Not only a producer, he also an in demand DJ, playing regularly around NYC hotspots, and will soon be touring Europe.

“It Melts Off My Bones” has skittering percussion, hazy vocals, and swirling melodies over filtered kicks. “Side Eye” has an acid element as its main feature while haunting vocals add another dimension to its depth. “Wet Roof” has a bouncing groove in the form of a stabbing bassline, as metallic shimmers and abstract samples create a unique and twisted vibe. The last original, “Off Planet,” aims at a more hypnotic tone as its cavernous style and droning tones develop into a rare mix of dance floor energy and introspection.

ARTM turns things up a notch on his remix of the title track “It Melts Off My Bones” as a jackin’ spirit is met with quirky sound effects, tribal hits for a funky rework. Concrete Husband closes out the EP with a remix of “Off Planet” using a throbbing bassline and thundering kicks with detailed hi-hat sound design to strip things back in a superb new interpretation.
