How does your creative process start?
It was ten years ago and all started as a joke with my friends. When I was 13 years old I started mixing tracks, then I started to create techno music. Now I perceive making music more seriously. I started to read more about the music I like. I didn’t know how to explaine what was in my head. Five years later I have created something, but it wasn’t what I wanted. “Encoded” is my first release so I’m very pleased.
The reason for this interview is your new EP titled Encoded. What can you tell us about the inspiration and it’s story?
It was a rainy day, it was dark and it was cold and I was sitting at home. I was thinking what should I do. “Should I play some Playstation or something else?” And then I just going to the studio and I was jamming around with my maschine. The EP Encoded was born. It was super funny because it happened quite spontaneous.
How would you describe the current situation on the global electronic scene?
In my opinion, a way must be devised how people who are fans of this music to have fun, because of Coronavirus Ibiza and many others countries, there will not open parties and festivals and it disappointed me a lot. But it will pass. People beware because this is dangerous. Wash your hands and stay home. In my opinion they should be done online festivals and events to listen and watch people`s famous DJs live.
When is the best time of day to be in the studio?
(Laughing) Always but on first place is the family. Then the rest of stuff. I think without ideas it makes nonsense to be in the studio. This is a lost time according to me. I want to share something personal for me. Sometimes, while I sleep, dream my tracks before I do them, sometimes my ideas come from my dreams.
How would you describe your sound?
At the beginning I was getting a bit bored of techno music and tried to add some other elements as trance, electro, melodies and many others elements.
I’m thinking of creating my own style “Progressive Hitech techno”.There is no such style. I don’t know how to define my music. In the end my music is a bit of everything. I define my style that way because I want to create something different. Something new. Techno music is the same for me (laughing)”Dun Dun Dun” if you understand me. I hope you like my music.
Tell us something more about “Sound Optix” label.
Sound Optix is a German based and digital focused music label. Launched in 2018 by Nico Jutte for electronic music. It is based on the idea of a creative collective, in which different DJs and music producers represent a relevant area of the electronic music scene. In addition to know international artists we are working on supporting and promoting new artists. I joined them soon and feel very happy.
Thank you Nico, you are the best.
Are you planning some new music? Can we expect your new releases soon?
Yes. I plan to release some single tracks and new album very soon. I hope the people will like them , because I create this music for the people who like it. People are my inspiration to make this music. I’m happy when people like what I create.
Being both DJ and a producer, do you believe that an artist has to be both?
In my opinion not impossible, but many DJ’s manage to do it, although the two are different. Mixing tracks are different skills. Producing is a different skill, but the two together… This is cool and amazing. I think anyone who produce his own music invites him to appear, if his music is really good. I believe that an artist has to be a both DJ and producer.
